Water and Ice: James Balog

I first saw James Balog’s incredible time lapse photography on Ted.com. I was mesmerized by both his talk and the images he presented. I should imagine that it’s hard for anyone to deny the reality of what’s happening to our world when it’s so visually clear. And even more, James’ photographs are so compellingly beautiful; it’s hard to imagine the world without any of its frozen snow and ice. James has been working with the Extreme Ice Survey, a project that combines art and science (I love groups like this). Today is Blog Action Day, the focus — climate change. So what I’d like to encourage everyone today to do is check out James’ Ted talk and head on over to the Extreme Ice Survey for more startling videos of the changes happening and amazing photography. And yes, I’m only one person and you’re only one person and it’s hard to imagine that only one person can make a real change, but I sincerely believe we can. It’s a goal of mine. I have big plans. And I’m determined to make all of my dreams reality. And you should believe you can too.
