…it’s usually about 60 degrees during the day. In the winter. That’s San Diego.
So, technically, I don’t need a winter coat here. Some people might argue whether I need a coat at all. But I do. I need something with long sleeves. Is it strange that all (but one) of my fall jackets have half-length sleeves? That leaves me with two options: (1) wear fall jacket and sweater so my arms stay covered, or (2) wear short sleeves and be tempted to wear my winter jacket to keep my arms warm. Problem with (2)? Then I’d be one of those strange Southern Californians who wear winter coats in 60 degree weather (shockingly, they’re abundant — i mean, scarf, glove, and wool coat all for 60 degrees and a touch of wind). I refuse to allow that to happen to me.
Then, I came across these coats from Smythe, thanks to Dilly Dallas. And I love.

alaskans tend to think it’s hilarious seeing people all bundled up when it’s 60 degrees out…but we also wear light jackets or sweatshirts too

Those are fun jackets! Coming from the Boston-area I totally wussed out and wear wool coats in LA hahaha. With every year that passes, the winter seems colder and colder to me. It’s really ridiculous! haha

That is one thing I love about winter on the east coast…all the cute coats and scarves! Although I would much rather be having 60 degree days than this snowstorm that we are about to be walloped with.
