English Fog

Just as the West Coast is finally getting a real taste of summer, the rain has rolled in here on the East Coast. The temperatures have dropped a bit and it feels like fall. I’m ready for warmer clothes.

It’s almost as if the fog has rolled in, and suddenly, I find myself longing for a trip to England.

Walking around old parts of London, grabbing a cup of tea in the middle of the afternoon, people watching, and running in the rain (I hear they have lots of rain there)…

I would bring skirts and dresses into the fall by adding tights and boots.

And scarves. I started wearing one regularly after being advised to do so by Miss Hannah, my high school voice teacher. It was better for the voice and helped prevent illness, she claimed. Miss Hannah had a cute English accent and a lightness about her that I looked forward to every week, and she spoke about England like it was some utterly charming place.

Don’t you suddenly want to spend a week or two (or several) in foggy England?

Am there right now! And yes, it does rain a lot. Even in the summer. The other afternoon I was walking down Oxford Street and got a photo of some lamps (on old fashioned lamp posts) all lit up in the dim light of the dark clouds. Very autumn-ish, and just like I read about in all my English novels growing up!

These photos are amazing I love Cabbage and Roses and I love those black boots! I am still worrying that I might never get to wear boots again. Pain.

    Enjoy the rain, friend!

This post feels seriously dreamy, but I’m not looking forward to fall or fog or rain – those days will be the end of my life! And I LOVE scarves! So great to read to ‘healthy’ they are besides being so stylish! xo

those are beautiful photos! but i can’t imagine fall ever existing right now since it’s so freakin hot! (whenever i get really hot on a daily basis, i get extra dramatic and lie around the house with my hand over my forehead saying, “why?! why so hot?!”). but i love fall and i can’t wait to roast pumpkin seeds and wear scarves!

Ok this post is almost making me long for fall!! There is something to be said about a nice rainy day where you can curl up inside with a good book. And I love pairing tights and boots – so fun. These pictures are just taking me away – to where I dream of going – England!

Although the grace kelly photos made me want it to be late summer forever, I am dying for fall! I love fall colors, and rainy days that call for wool tights and high boots. Sigh. These photos remind me I need to do some serious back to school shopping!

I spent a lovely several months in England. I loved the cool weather. My hair didn’t, but I certainly did. I stayed near the Lake District where it virtually rains/mists most of the winter. But very lovely.

PS- Thanks for the lovely comment about my crane project. :)
