I know: the title of this post alone is enough to make your head spin and tummy grumble. And then I have to go and show you a picture of this little treat I made for Melissa’s pop up shop last weekend. Should I dare tell you how fantastically delicious they were too? Their cute petit four size only made it easier to pop one of two of these at a time.
I promised people I would share the recipe, and I keep my word. The cake recipe you can find on my food blog, Pizzelles (which I’ll be taking up again soon). But you need some modifications. First, bake the cake in a 9×13 pan. Once the cake is cool, cut it into small squares (rectangles, triangles and other shapes welcome). Line a cookie sheet with parchment or wax paper. Melt some dark chocolate (I used 72% and about 12 oz of it) and dip the pieces in. Put dipped pieces on cookie sheet and refrigerate until chocolate hardens.
You might need to hide half of these for yourself when you finish, because they’ll go fast at a party.
