Happy St. Paddy’s Day!

Any plans to celebrate the merriest of Saint’s days?

While I’m not sure where I may find myself tomorrow evening yet, I can guarantee there will be a glass of Irish whiskey in my hand. Guinness I only like in my chocolate cakes.  I had the chance earlier this week to attend a fantastic whiskey dinner at Fadó Irish Pub in Annapolis, where I snapped the picture above. I can’t wait to share more photos with you next week (and some whiskey recommendations too).

Have a safe, merry weekend, friends!

    Dear Brandi,
you may want to know that Irish people get a little bit angry at Americans who refer to St Patrick’s Day as Patty’s Day.
They can tolerate it being shortened to Paddy given that the Gaelic version of Patrick is Padraig but Patty is a No-No!
A nice Paddy’s Day to you!

I still have a recipe for your Chocolate Guinness cake that I have yet to make. We’re having friends over on Saturday, I may have to whip one up! I’ll certainly let you know if I do!

I use to love Guinness, but my heart has always been sold on Murphy’s Irish Stout. It’s like Guinness with a chocolate bar melted into it. Divine. However, this year, I think I’ll drink a mint chocolate chip milkshake (oh, that sounds delicious) to celebrate instead. ;)

Hhhmmm, I will be hiding in my house with the family. But oh how I remember the days of green beer, black and tans and way too many gin and tonics. I always hated the morning after St. Patrick’s day. I’ll be happy not to celebrate this year. =)
