The Archer’s Wardrobe

archeryeshakti

…consists entirely of dresses and skirts.

I’m atypical as far as archers go though. But the combination of a dress and a bow makes me feel both powerful and feminine.

I love being a contradiction.

P.S. There’s a reason I’m not a fashion blogger: I always abandon cute shoes for practical ones. The ground at the outdoor range is typically wet and muddy, so I always go with my Hunter boots. The dress was a gift from my friends at eShakti — I’m in love with their retro styles and custom sizing. I have at least ten dresses from them now. If you haven’t shopped there before, I highly recommend you go fall in love with something. If you use the code NTYRVERGER, you’ll get 20% off through March 20th.

P.P.S. For those of you who know archery, yes, my elbow is high. I’ve been having some shoulder issues lately and posing for the photo sort of hurt.

  1. Every time you talk about archery, I remember how much I’d like to take it up. :) I love that you shoot in pretty clothes. I’m all about practical shoes, so I like the juxtaposition of the Hunters with the dress!

  2. LOVE the dress. I currently have an eShakti dress waiting to be tried on and photographed for a post myself. ;) I now have 4 dresses and a skirt from them and just love them muchos. And if I were an archer, I’d want to do it wearing dresses too. You do it well.

  3. I think you should definitely stick with the dresses and skirts. It’s you. It’s your signature: tough and pretty at once.

I remember the one occasion on which I attempted archery. It was fun and disastrous–I have no upper body strength and very little core strength to compensate. Yet I enjoyed myself–and watching my best friend laugh at my utter lack of coordination.
